Yamaha responded to the Federal Emergency Management Agencys request for supplies by offering boats, outboard engines, generators, water pumps and personal watercraft for rescue and evacuation assistance. Cash contributions by employees will be donated to the American Red Cross. The company also is offering assistance to corporate employees and 26 dealers in the Gulf Coast region hit by Hurricane Katrina, including a grant program for dealers who have lost their homes. 4) APBA/Southern California Speedboat Club - 2005 Long Beach Sprint Nationals

August 13th & 14th, 2005 - Long Beach Marine Stadium, Long Beach, CA After experiencing the large turnout of boats and spectators at last year's SCSC event at the famed Marine Stadium, this year proved to be an even bigger success for SCSC & Foothill Unity Center.

Two National Championships were decided with two repeat winners. Congratulations to Lanse Haselrig #790 My Pleasure who passed a heartbroken Dennis Rankin #9 Rayson Craft who broke at the top end of the course while leading on the last lap of the 20 lap Main National Championship heat, and to Steve Tustison and Jeff Hansen who teamed up again in 2005 and overcame stiff competition by 17 other top competitors in the nation to win the APBA 2005 Summer National Championships.

5) Rinker Wrecks, Seebold Wins at St. Louis

Rinker Wrecks - Sunday, August 21, 2005 - St. Louis, Mo. - The 2003 ChampBoat Series champion Terry Rinker just wanted to win something, anything in 2005 after a winless 2004 season. After the first four races of the new season, the Tampa native had easily accomplished his goal after winning three events. Now he has his sights set on another season title and a strong showing at the famous St. Louis race would help his chance immensely.

After four different starts, three different accidents and three different leaders, the water finally settled on the St. Louis race after two hours and 15 minutes. Rinker, who entered the weekend with a large lead over second in the overall points standings, was running hard with just seven laps to go before the unthinkable occurred. Heading into the final turn, a lapped rider had his steering brake hard right in front of Rinker's #10 boat. The unexpected move caused Rinker to climb up and over the other boat. A dangerous move when you're traveling over 100 mph. The accident forced Rinker to take his brother's back-up boat for the seven remaining laps of the event. Rinker would finish the race in fourth and still holds an 86-point leader in the overall standings.

Seebold Wins - The 34th Annual Bud Light Championships proved to be a spectacle that saw four starts, three accidents and hometown hero Tim Seebold emerged as the winner.

The race began with Seebold in the lead, but by lap 14, Jason Campbell #5 of Chandler, Ariz., had overcome Seebold to take the lead. The first delay in the race occurred in lap 22. J.R. Saffold #63 turned over at the number two pin of the five-pin course. Upon the restart, Campbell shot back into the lead, followed closely by Todd Bowden #34 of Monrovia, Calif. Bowden eventually took the lead when Campbell was forced to retire in the 28th lap. Bowden continued to lead the fleet until a crash in the 43rd lap forced him to switch boats with teammate Shaun Torrente #4 of Miami, Fla. Bowden would finish the event in third place.

The final restart occurred with just five laps remaining. Seebold bolted into the lead and cruised to the finish line. Chris Fairchild #62 of North Aurora, Ill., finished behind him in second place. Terry Rinker #10 of Tampa, Fla., pulled off a fourth place finish in spite of crashing into bench marker Jeff Shepard #38 of Woodlawn, Tenn., in the final turn. The crash, which saw Rinkers hull climb over Shepards boat, forced Rinker to finish the remaining seven laps in his brothers back-up boat.
